remembering Robin
What a wonderful tribute to Robin this website brings. I first knew Robin in the Krackerjack days, but really got to know him when he played with the Millionaires, as I was dating the bass player, Alex Napier. Robin loved to play, and was quite the prankster on stage. He played the best slide guitar I've ever heard. He is truly missed.

Mr.
I knew Robin in High School and after also played drums behind him on several occasions we ran with the same crowd. He was an underrated player and writer.

friend
I'm not sure why, but I woke up this morning and as I was feeding the local homeless cat (who flat out refuses to be anything but that...) I thought of Robin, who as many of us know, had a soft spot in his heart for cats. Hey Robin, if you read this up there in Heaven, do me a favor and look up that old orange cat I used to rent the garage apt for, Chumley, and let him know I miss him, and I miss you!

My All Time Favorite Guitarist
I had lost touch with Robin and was shocked to hear that he was gone. I had the great honor of singing in a band with Robin, Waldo Weathers and Rick Webb in the early 80's and having him record a solo on a track Rick and I had written. He played it so good on the first take that we were blown away! Robin wanted to do another take, but we begged him to leave it just as it was. I'm thankful that I had the good fortune to perform for a year or so with someone who wasn't just my friend, but my all time favorite guitarist.

Wrong Window
I knew Robin when we had Honda S90's back in Jr High at Ben Franklin. I had a gold one and Robin had a black one. We raced a lot. He was the only one who could beat mine....sometimes. Seeing pictures of Dane Headley and Mark Kessel was great. Dang it, I wish I could have been there for him in the end. Life is tough.... I remember one night White and I snuck out of my house and walked all the way to Robin's from Aberdeen and Thackeray. We tapped on Robin's window after midnight on a Fri night and his old man slung the window open and almost grabbed me by the arm. Freaked us out and we ran for 3 blocks. Then we had to smoke some of my Mom's Tareyton's. Wrong Window..Robin was pissed. We got him soooo much trouble. Dang. Saw him years later at the Filling Station in the late 70's ...I think. He was doing good, he showed me his Walther PPK. Said he needed it for protection. Still had his long hair. Thanx Sandra for telling me about this place.
